Saigon Times Group organizes Mekong startup event Friday

CAN THO – The Saigon Times Group and Can Tho University will jointly organize a roundtable discussion themed “How to start up a business effectively” on Friday, gathering several leaders in the Mekong Delta as key speakers.

The discussion is aimed at seeking effective startup solutions given the growing spirit of entrepreneurship in the Mekong Delta, said Ha Thanh Toan, principal of Can Tho University.

Le Minh Hoan, Party chief of Dong Thap Province, will talk about the activities and policies in his province to support the startup movement while Nguyen Thanh Dung, vice chairman of Can Tho City, will give an insight into the startup movement of the city.

Le Nguyen Doan Khoi, director of the Center for Technology Business Incubation under Can Tho University, will provide business incubation solutions at school, and shares ways to coordinate with other organizations in order to support startups.

Participants are expected to discuss the activities of the Mekong Delta startup network. Nguyen Phuong Lam, deputy director at the Can Tho branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will introduce the 2018 Mekong Delta Startup Contest which is aimed at promoting the startup movement and developing a startup ecosystem in the region.

Pham Minh Quoc, director of the Korea Vietnam Incubator Park, will deliver a speech on the business incubator policy of the agency.

The university’s former student Tang Huu Thai will talk about startup solutions that have been successfully applied to his Gia Hao brand after he graduated from the school last year.

Meanwhile, Cao Thanh Hung, a student from the Technology Faculty, will introduce a students’ project on the production and commercialization of measuring equipment, including an air quality warning system.
