CAN THO – The Vietnam International Agricultural Trade Fair 2018 is slated to take place at the Can Tho Promotion Agency (CPA) from November 2 to November 6 in Can Tho City, featuring a slew of business activities connecting enterprises with local farmers.

Under the theme “Developing and applying scientific and technological advances to farm produce production, processing and consumption,” the trade fair is aimed at supporting enterprises in marketing their brands and seeking new customers, helping them make thorough evaluations of market trends and bolstering cooperation on technology by linking farmers and consumers, said CPA head Nguyen Khanh Tung.

Visitors to the fair can get involved in many activities, such as a B2B matching event between Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Can Tho enterprises; the Mekong Chef Contest highlighting Vietnamese tra fish; and a seminar titled, “Building and developing the value chain of agricultural staples: from market to production.”

In particular, the event organizers, CPA and Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, will bring multiple groups of farmers in the Mekong Delta region to the fair to network and discuss business opportunities with participating enterprises.

In addition, local firms from many cities and provinces across the country will join the trade show, alongside international enterprises and joint ventures from South Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States and Switzerland.

The trade fair this year will house 450 booths of 300 local and foreign exhibitors, showcasing a host of products in the agricultural sector such as machinery, equipment, seedlings and processed farm produce, as well as safe and clean plant-growing models.
As for agricultural machinery, equipment and production chains, a number of products from popular brands, including Bui Van Ngo, Veam, Buhler Farmilia and Goldstar, will be put on display at the fair.

Several booths will be set aside for the youth and college students in the region, enabling them to introduce their innovative agricultural startup projects to trade visitors, in partnership with Can Tho Center of Assistance and Developing Students and Can Tho Startup Club.
